Baptism of infants
Baptism of infants is organized after a preliminary talk with a priest. Both parents are invited to this meeting or the parent who is taking care of the child in cases such as a divorce. Future godparents are also invited to take part in this conversation. The priest talks about baptism as the act of joining the Church, about time, procedure, and the necessary requirements. Parents with newborn babies (who are 40 days old and older) are invited to go through an old church ritual of bringing the baby to the church before baptism. As a rule, this traditional ceremony takes place after a Sunday service. Godparents should be Orthodox believers.
Baptism of adults
Baptism of adults is conducted after catechism meetings which are organized by priests, catechists, and believers. Such meetings include the teaching of the Orthodox Christian faith and the Way of the Orthodox Christian life.
